On Saturday, May 25th, 2013, ChamberLab celebrated its one-year anniversary (sort of … our first concert was actually in May of 2010 … but then we got distracted and it took some time to reboot the series as a proper series … ) at Cafe Desta in downtown Tucson, Arizona, to a capacity crowd.
The ensemble was the biggest and most eclectic yet, featuring bassoons, contrabassoon, violin, cello, piano, double bass, tuba, accordion, trombone, clarinet, flute, piccolo, vibraphone, glass bowls, bass drums, and a Wurlitzer electric piano. We performed our favorite pieces throughout the following year.
The concert was recorded live by Chris Schultz and Alex Reagan of Tucson’s Wavelab studio, and resulted in the release of our first album.
CE Elliott took many wonderful pictures.
